The Malagana Treasure of Colombia,
South America, is the group of gold and other artifacts plundered in 1992 in
a mob "gold rush" after an ancient cemetery near Hacienda Malagana in
western Colombia, was discovered in 1992. Later that year, some of the
artifacts were donated to the Museo del Oro (Museum of Gold) in Bogotá.
Archaeological excavations at the site established a new cultural complex,
designated as Malagana, that dates between 300 BC to AD 300
